Grant Hanley: Norwich City agree fee with Newcastle United for centre-back
Norwich City have agreed a fee with Newcastle United to sign centre-back Grant Hanley.
The Canaries are in the market for new defenders following a poor start to the season which has seen them concede 12 goals in just five league games.
Hanley moved to Newcastle in a £5 million move from Blackburn Rovers last summer, but has found first team opportunities hard to come by ever since.
The 25-year-old has now been deemed surplus to requirements at St James' Park, but has considerable experience in The Championship having played more than 100 games at that level.
According to Press Association Sport, Hanley still needs to settle personal terms at Carrow Road while other second tier clubs could also bid for the player.
