Fundraising appeal to build memorial for zookeeper Rosa King reaches its target
A fundraising appeal to build a memorial at Hamerton Zoo in Cambridgeshire for keeper Rosa King has reached its target.
The 33-year-old died last month, when she was attacked in an enclosure by a rare Malayan tiger.
The zoo re-opened last week following a safety inspection.
A crowdfunding page set up by staff at the park has reached its £1,800 target.
Any further donations will go to the Cheetah Conservation Foundation - a charity which was close to Rosa's heart.
The tiger involved won't be put down after Rosa's family made it clear they wanted to keep it alive.
An inquest into Rosa's death heard she died as a result of "traumatic injuries".
The inquest was adjourned until a pre-inquest hearing which is due to be held on November 23.
