Cambridgeshire Police 'dedicated to keeping people safe' as they step up patrols in wake of London attack
Cambridgeshire Police have confirmed there will be more police presence on the county's streets on Monday following Saturday's terror attack in London.
Seven people were killed and more than 40 injured when pedestrians were mowed down by a van on London Bridge, and people were stabbed in nearby Borough Market.
As a result, Cambridgeshire have followed many forces across the country in increasing the number of officers at key tourist sites as they look to offer the public some reassurance.
The county's Police and Crime Commissioner Jason Ablewhite has backed the move, and has called on members of the pubic to report anything suspicious.
“As far as I am aware, there continues to be no threat in Cambridgeshire that we are aware of, but we must all remain vigilant and ensure that if there is something that you see or hear that you are not sure about, that this is reported to the police immediately," he said.
“We must stay calm and go about our daily lives to ensure that terrorism never wins. We are a nation with a big heart with thousands of years of history rooted firmly in our land of freedom and democracy. We stand together defiant and ever resilient as one nation.”
