An internet buyer has bought a cardboard Banksy for £10,000 at auction in Suffolk.

The sprayed stencil called Bomb Hugger was designed by the elusive street artist in 2003 for a protest in London.

It went under the hammer at Rowleys Auctioneers in Newmarket.

Will Axon, Rowley's Auctioneers, said: "It's special because of how it was produced and when it was produced.

"I think the fact that it was produced for the anti-Iraq war march really adds to Banksy's subliminal, political message.

"The fact it's on a flimsy bit of cardboard as well just really adds to that almost throw away street art that the market has decided has become valuable."
