MK Dons captain Dean Lewington has signed up for a 15th season with MK Dons.

The 33-year-old left-back has made more than 600 appearances for the Dons, and will become the longest-serving player at any club in the country once John Terry officially leaves Chelsea this summer.

Lewington's current deal was due to expire at the end of next month, but he has now agreed a new contract that will run until the summer of 2019.

MK Dons boss Robbie Neilson was equally as pleased to end any speculation over Lewington's future, and is looking forward to working with him over the next couple of seasons.

“I’m delighted Lewie has signed for another two years," he said.

“He brings great experience to the squad and he’s role model for the younger players. He’s a leader on and off the field and will continue to be an integral part of the club.”
