Colchester Hospital has warned patients will continue to face delays and cancellations to appointments because of the cyber attack.

At least 30 health service organisations in England and Scotland wereinfiltrated by the ransomware.

Nick Hulme, Chief Executive of Colchester Hospital, said it was having a "significant impact" on their services.

He added: "We had to close our entire IT system down, both clinical and non-clinical systems, which had a significant impact on the organisation.

"There's no evidence at all that any patients came to any harm, but we did have to cancel some routine, some elective patients, because we didn't no how far the virus had got into the organisation.

"No patient information has been lost, no personal information or data about patients has gone so we can assure the patients that's the case."
