An ambitious challenge has been set to raise funds to help fight Motor Neurone Disease.
MND affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time. In the East of England around 500 people are living with the disease. A third of those diagnosed will die within a year.
Jay Lucas from Northampton lost his father after 18 months. In his memory he's organised the Move The World Challenge asking volunteers to walk, jog, cycle, or swim. Each time they ‘move’ their distance will be logged on a special website where they’ll be able to keep track of how far they’ve gone. Together he hopes they'll cover more than 24,000 miles- making it the virtual equivalent of going right around the world.
