easyJet 'genuinely sorry' after couple ordered off overbooked flight from Luton airport
Luton-based easyJet has said it is "genuinely sorry" after a couple were told to leave an overbooked flight.
The passengers were flying from Luton to Sicily last Monday and were asked to leave by staff because there were no seats left.
The couple told The Independent the situation was "incredibly humiliating" and their only option was to get a flight four days later.
They said the airline failed to tell them they were entitled to a flight the same day with another airline, or to compensation.
easyJet described the circumstances as "very unusual" and said it was "genuinely sorry" for what had happened.
It comes a day after a separate incident, where a man was manhandled off an overbooked United Airlines flight in the US.
