Norwich City board: Alex Neil sacking was a 'tough but unanimous' decision

Norwich City say their decision to sack manager Alex Neil was "tough but unanimous".
The Canaries have made the call to part company with the 35-year-old following a poor season which has seen them struggle to keep pace with the play-off pack.
Neil led Norwich to promotion from The Championship in 2015, beating Middlesbrough in the play-off final at Wembley, but they were relegated from the Premier League immediately.
They were among the favourites to bounce straight back, but are currently nine points behind the top six in 8th with only 10 games remaining.
First team coach Alan Irvine will take charge of tomorrow's Championship game against Blackburn Rovers at Carrow Road, while the club say they won't be making any further comment at this stage.
