Thousands of homes without electricity as power lines downed
Thousands of homes across the Anglia region are without electricity as high winds from Storm Doris bring trees down onto power lines.
Extra staff have been drafted in to deal with the problems.
UK Power Networks says power supplies have been affected by the severe weather across parts of the East of England electricity network.
The company apologised to customers affected and said it was working to restore supplies.
The number of homes without power at 5pm
21,350 in Norfolk
8,900 in Suffolk
7,000 in Essex
2,300 in Cambridgeshire
The UK Power Networks website was displaying a map showing details of all the power cuts but pressure online traffic caused that to fail during the afternoon.
The company says it has extra engineers working to clear the damage and restore the power as quickly as possible.
It has arranged a greater number of call advisors to take phone calls and has opened up extra call centres.
