Former Essex fast bowler Mills sold for £1.4 million at IPL auction
Former Essex fast bowler Tymal Mills will earn £1.4 million in this year's Indian Premier League after he was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The 24-year-old, who previously went to college in Mildenhall and is a big Norwich City supporter, fetched the second highest price for an English player - with all-rounder Ben Stokes attracting the biggest bid (£1.7m).
Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils all tried to sign T20 specialist Mills at the auction, but in the end it was Royal Challengers Bangalore who won the race for his signature.
Following confirmation of the deal, Mills tweeted that it had been a "crazy morning" and thanked everyone for their support.
Mills' England teammates also queued up to congratulate him on his contract, with Jos Buttler and Sam Billings among those to wish him well.
