Young mother spearheads national campaign to tackle loneliness
Video report by ITV News Anglia's Malcolm Robertson
A young mother from Norfolk is helping spearhead a national campaign to tackle the misery of loneliness.
Camilla Leveridge, from Wymondham, says she felt detached and isolated after the birth of her son three years ago. She suffered from severe postnatal depression and anxiety.
What helped her through a dark period in her life was the support she got from the children's centre team in her hometown.
Camilla says she is now in a much better place, and she is studying for an Open University degree.
She has been involved in the launch of a new cross-party commission commission to tackle loneliness.
The commission honours the memory of the MP Jo Cox. She had taken the first step towards setting it up before she was murdered in her Yorkshire constituency in June 2016. It is named after her.
Action for Children is one of 13 national organisations involved in the Jo Cox commission.
It provides support for young parents at a time when they may be finding life stressful with a new baby in the house.
It was through meeting other mums that Camilla began to feel better and build up a bond with her son.
The charity is determined to expose the growing crisis of loneliness and find ways of overcoming it.
Seven months after her death Jo Cox's legacy is that her plans to tackle loneliness are coming to fruition.
