Wildschut hands in transfer request as Norwich City and Derby battle to sign him
Wigan Athletic winger Yanic Wildschut has handed in a transfer request amid interest from Norwich City and Derby County, the club have confirmed.
Both the Canaries and Derby have had several bids rejected for the Dutchman who has been one of the Latics' best players this season.
Wigan have so far refused to sell though which has led to the 25-year-old trying to force their hand by asking for a move.
Chairman David Sharpe has released a statement tonight, calling Wildschut's conduct "inappropriate and very disappointing."
Norwich will now have to decide whether to raise their bid in order to get a chance to talk to the player.
The Canaries may be in the market for a left winger ahead of tomorrow's deadline, with Robbie Brady expected to move on.
