Enormous cake to mark MK's 50th birthday

A huge cake was cut to mark the official birthday celebrations at Milton Keynes.

The 6ft x 4ft cake with six tiers was made by local cake artist Karrin Simpson and featured lots of famous MK landmarks.

It included curry cake, chocolate cake, as well as tiers flavoured with lemon, fruit and ginger.

Everyone who attended the cutting at the centre:mk was also given the chance to get a free slice of the celebratory cake.
