Safety alert after dog and owner get into trouble off Norfolk coast
A dog and its owner have had a lucky escape after getting into trouble at Sea Palling on the North Norfolk coast.
The Happisburgh lifeboat was launched when coastguards raised the alarm yesterday afternoon after reports that a dog was in the sea and its owner had gone into the water to rescue it.
They eventually made their own way to safety and apart from being wet and cold they were unhurt.
It is thought the dog could have gone into the sea chasing seals.
The RNLI say when there are seals nearby dogs should be kept on leads and owners should never enter the water as dogs normally make their own way back to shore.
