Greg Rutherford returns to hometown to share life story

Video report by ITV News Anglia's Russell Hookey

Olympic athlete Greg Rutherford has returned to his hometown as he prepares to share his life story in a new book.

Just a couple of weeks ago, the long jumper turned 30. It's a milestone that has prompted him to reflect on his achievements - and how differently things might have unfolded.

Recognised around the world, Greg remains a Bletchley boy at heart.

He still still lives locally and spends as much time at home as he can.

While it's the long jump which brought him success, he reached a whole new audience with nine weeks on this year's Strictly Come Dancing.

Perhaps biggest change for Greg though is fatherhood. Two years ago young Milo arrived into the world.

The athlete admits his age means his competitive career may be drawing to a close, but he hopes staying in the public eye will allow him to inspire the next generation of sporting stars.
