Hospital trials extended visiting hours for elderly patients
One of the biggest hospitals in the region is trialling an extension of visiting hours on its 'elderly-care' wards .
It's part of an initiative called 'John's Campaign' at the Lister Hospital in Stevenage.
It aims to give carers of those living with dementia the right to stay with them for longer in hospital. Visiting hours have gone from three to 12 hours a day.
The extended visiting hours are being trialled for four weeks...if they're successful they could be rolled out across rest of the hospital.
