Children rescue hedgehog caught in a prickly situation
Children from a primary school in King's Lynn have come to the rescue of a stranded hedgehog, caught in wire fencing.
The children from North Wootton Primary School found the prickly mammal stuck in their playground fence.
They waited with the hedgehog until help came and the small creature was carefully removed from the fence.
The hedgehog was very dehydrated and poorly from her ordeal and is now receiving medical attention at the East Winch Wildlife Centre.
Staff there will observe the hedgehog until she is in a stable condition.
When she is back to health she will be released back into the wild.
