A racing car that was driven to victory at Silverstone by Sir Stirling Moss is being recreated by a team of engineers.

The Lister Jaguar 'Knobbly' was hailed as one the most competitive race cars of the 1950s.

Customers wanting to buy one of the replica cars will have to part with around £1 million.

Mark Hallam, of George Lister Engineering, said: "These cars are very special because there are no cars like this around now.

"The two manufactured in the fifties are no longer running. These cars are made from a lightweight tubular chassis with a full magnesium body which makes them very special, very competitive and very original."

The manufacturers will turn out just ten of these cars

All of them exact replicas of the model that was made here six decades ago

Each one has been hand built using many of the same traditional methods.
