Eighty fire fighters battle industrial estate blaze
Eighty fire fighters from four counties have been fighting a blaze at an industrial estate in Bedfordshire.
Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service say they were called to reports of a fire in a caravan at Four Winds industrial estate at Clophill just off the A6 around 11pm.
When they arrived they found the fire was well developed and it quickly spread to other buildings.
The A6 has had to be closed to traffic in both directions and there are reports that some people living nearby were asked to leave their homes.
Initial reports suggested that several cylinders, including acetylene were at the premises and crews had to stop the fire from spreading to them.
At the height of the incident over 80 Firefighters from 4 counties attended, with 12 pumps, 2 Aerial Platforms and 4 Water Carriers being used. The Incident Command Unit also attended.
Firefighting operations are still continuing, and good progress has been made in containing the fire and bringing the incident under control.
