People living close to a house in Luton where a Mum of four was murdered say the community has been left in fear.

The woman, named locally as 34-year-old Saima Khan, was found in a pool of blood at her home in Overstone Road on Sunday night.

It's thought she may have disturbed burglars who'd entered the property.

Several neighbours told ITV News Anglia that a number of burglaries had taken place in the street in recent months.

It's understood that Saima was killed while looking after her children and that she'd organised a first birthday party for the youngest this coming weekend.

Police say a post mortem examination has been carried out on her body today.

Forensic experts have spent the day examining the car that belonged to Miss Kahn.

The car was a left-hand drive and she used the vehicle on a regular basis to commute to her job as a care worker.

Saima had been working for Allied Healthcare, visiting clients around Luton.

Community leaders say her death has left a sense of disbelief.

Detectives say they will remain at the scene for 'several days'.

They've still to formally identify her and give more details about her killing.

Meanwhile, people in Luton say a public meeting is being organised in response to the murder.
