Paleontologists say some fossil hunters are digging into cliffs looking for relics at West Runton and they're asking visitors to search responsibly.

See Kate Prout's report here.

An almost-complete mammoth was found at West Runton, near Cromer, in 1990 and the beach has been a draw for fossil hunters ever since.

Historians learn a great deal from finds along the Norfolk coast, including footprints and hand axes that place mankind here thousands of years earlier than originally thought.
