Eye witnesses say man who died was being chased by police in Bedford

The police watchdog has been called in after a man died in Bedfordshire this afternoon.

Eye witnesses say they saw him being chased by officers.

Bedfordshire Police confirmed that a man died on Midland Road at around 12.30.

Officers gave him first aid and an ambulance crew was also sent to the scene.
