When Southwold cottage hospital closed in December 2015 local residents became concerned about the future of the site.

The hospital was opened in 1903, built entirely on local donations, and taken over by the NHS when it formed in 1948. But, like many small community hospitals, it was closed down and is now empty.

A campaign group, 'Save our Southwold', is concerned that developers will win the bid to buy the building and turn it into holiday or second homes.

A public meeting is being held in Southwold on Monday 9th May to determine whether local residents want to get involved in keeping the site for the community. More details here
