A man, who bought his clothes from charity shops and got electricals including a fridge from his local dump, has left a shock gift of £1.5m to Ipswich Hospital.

Peter Gibbons, a former farmer and landowner from Bramford in Suffolk, led a very frugal existence but died last May leaving over £1.5m.

Most of his fortune has gone to Ipswich Hospital.
