Glenn Roeder brought in to help young caretaker boss at Stevenage
Stevenage have appointed former Norwich City boss Glenn Roeder as their new "managerial advisor" to help out caretaker boss Darren Sarll.
Boro are just seven points clear of the danger zone in League Two ahead of their trip to Oxford tomorrow.
The club asked the former Watford boss to take up the short-term role while the young manager finds his feet.
Roeder said Stevenage had a lot of faith in Sarll and he was looking forward to working with him.
Roeder, who was also manager at West Ham and Newcastle United in the Premier League, is expected to stay until the end of the season.
Stevenage FC chairman, Phil Wallace, said while Sarll was an "excellent young coach who has the respect of the players", the club was mindful that he had limited experience as a manager.
