Man falls 20m from telephone mast in Bedfordshire

A man has been seriously injured after falling from a 30m telephone mast onto a building.

Fire crews in Bedfordshire had to work carefully to rescue him without putting him at further risk.

He had fallen 20m - or 60ft - from the telephone mast at Wood End Farm in Tingrith, near Flitwick, just before 10.30am on Thursday.

Firefighters used specialist equipment to make sure he remained still as they got him off the roof.

The man was taken to hospital by the ambulance service.
