Residents speak of shock and fear as hunt continues for Harlow murder weapon

People living in Harlow have spoken of their shock after a 48-year-old man was stabbed in the town over the weekend.

The victim was attacked on Saturday morning on a pathway that leads from Southern Way to Pyenest Road and a subsequent post mortem revealed he died from a single stab wound to the chest.

Police have spent today searching nearby homes and gardens for a murder weapon- believed to be a large knife.

Police are also keen to get hold of any CCTV from businesses or homes which overlook Pyenest Road which may have captured either the victim or the person or people responsible for the crime.

News of the death has led to many local people taking extra precautions, with one resident telling ITV News Anglia that she's too scared to unlock her doors.

However, officers remain in the area to offer reassurance and are still keen to hear from anyone who may have vital information.
