The first luxury boat built by the new Fairline Yachts company rolled off the production line in Corby this morning.

It is the first order to be shipped off since the Fairline Boats company went into administration just before Christmas.

More than 300 jobs were lost - but the new owners say the future is looking bright for the brand.

The company currently employs around 80 staff.

Russell Currie, Managing Director of Fairline Yachts, said: "It was as devastating to me as a dealer, as to all the staff, so I do get their hurt and this is a great day at the end of a bumpy road.

"All businesses have bumpy roads, but I think Fairline had their fair share of it last year and that's over."

The boat, a Targa 48 GT, costs more than £500,000.
