Woman discovers she has brain tumour after having hearing problems
A woman from Toddington in Bedfordshire who started to struggle to hear while talking on the telephone discovered she had a brain tumour.
Liz Kirtley had laughed it off as being as sign she was getting older.
In fact she had a very rare tumour which had been growing on her auditory nerve for seven years.
She's now had treatment and is training to run the marathon.
Liz was told she'd had an acoustic neuroma for seven years.
She was given intensive radiotherapy. But that wouldn't cure the damage already caused.
Liz is now training to run the London Marathon in April and will be raising money for the Brain Research Trust.
