Essex teenager flies home from Sheffield via Berlin - all to save £8
A teenager has discovered it was cheaper to fly from Sheffield to his home in Essex via Berlin, rather than get a train!
Jordon Cox, nicknamed the "Coupon Kid" for his money-saving skills, found that international flights with some budget airlines are cheaper than a rail ticket.
The 18-year-old flew to Berlin where he saw all the sights and even had enough money left over for a currywurst sausage for lunch!
How did he do it?
Jordon flew from East Midlands Airport to Berlin for just £11.83.
He spent a few hours in the German capital, before heading back to Stansted Airport in Essex. He paid £9.54 for this leg of the journey.
Adding in train, bus journeys and lunch, he got home to Hutton near Shenfield for £44.07.

How much did he save?
If Jordon had gone by rail, a ticket alone from Sheffield to Shenfield was £47.
Adding in lunch and the bus ride home would have brought that to £51.79.
Therefore, he saved himself £7.72.
