Lifeboat crews on an exercise off the Norfolk coast were called to a real life emergency after a sailor got into trouble off Great Yarmouth.

The Caister Lifeboat was sent to help on Sunday 6th December after a yachtsman on his own reported he was in difficulties in rough seas seven miles offshore.

The crew were on the scene within 20 minutes and found the man had injured his hand. Gorleston Lifeboat was called in to tow the yacht - called Olivia - to safety, while the Caister crew escorted them both back into Yarmouth harbour.
