Cambridge United have signed Oxford United defender Cameron Gayle on loan until January.

The 22-year old plays predominantly at right back but is also capable of fulfilling a centre back role.

He's the fourth player signed by Shaun Derry since being installed as Cambridge manager, and could make his debut tonight at Morecambe in Sky Bet League Two.

Prior to joining Oxford, Gayle turned professional with West Bromwich Albion in 2012, enjoyed loan spells in Iceland and at Shrewsbury Town where he made his Football League debut before signing a permanent deal at the New Meadow in 2014.
