Northampton Town manager Chris Wilder has pleaded with the club's current chairman David Cardoza to sell to former Oxford United owner Kelvin Thomas.

Thomas is one of three groups trying to complete a takeover before next Friday's administration petition hearing.

The Cobblers are in desperate financial trouble, with staff at the club having not been paid in six weeks.

Wilder worked alongside Thomas at Oxford and is adamant that he is the right man to take the club forward - a view backed by a recent poll on the ITV News Anglia website which suggested that Thomas had the overwhelming support of the Cobblers' fans.

Speaking after yesterday's hard-fought win over Notts County, Wilder made a passionate plea to Cardoza to get the deal done.
