Woodland 'Hobbit' home gets stay of execution
A homeless man who built a Hobbit-style house in woodland near Tiptree in Essex has been told he faces eviction.
The Forestry Commission issued a notice on Chaz Johnson's wooden house saying it would be demolished because it was built without planning permission.
Chaz has been living in his home made from wood, mud and moss since June after becoming homeless.
Last week the Forestry Commission told him they'd tear it down this afternoon because he'd built it without planning permission and the knowledge of the landowner.
But just hours before they were meant to arrive they had a change of heart.

Chaz, who's 21, has two jobs and is saving to rent a place of his own but hopes this structure will remain here for others to enjoy. The Forestry Commission says it wants to help Chaz find somewhere else to stay.
