Photos show devastating aftermath of Sudbury fire

The cleanup is underway in Sudbury this morning after a devastating fire destroyed parts of the historic town centre last night.

Around 20 people were forced to leave their homes in the area after the fire service evacuated nearby buildings.

Three people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police are advising residents and motorists that Friars Street will remain closed between Station Road and the market place on Monday.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service were also at the scene
