Man admits manslaughter after torso found in suitcase
A man has denied murder, but pleaded guilty to manslaughter after the torso of his partner was found in a suitcase in Peterborough.
Vytautas Jokubauskas, 57, of Mayor’s Walk, Peterborough, also pleaded guilty to preventing a lawful and decent burial.
However, Jokubauskas pleaded not guilty to murder at the Old Bailey this morning (Friday September 4).
Jokubauskas is charged with murdering 42-year-old Ramute Butkiene. Her torso was discovered at a property in Mayor’s Walk on the afternoon of Friday June 5.
A trial has been scheduled for November 11 at Southwark Crown Court. Jokubauskas remains in police custody until this time.
