New Ipswich Town signing Jonathan Douglas says that he's ready to come back fighting after he was allowed to leave Championship rivals Brentford.

The Irishman played a key role as the Bees surprised everyone to reach the play-offs last season, captaining the side and scoring eight goals.

However, a change of direction and management at Griffin Park meant that the 33-year-old became surplus to requirements and Douglas is glad that he's been handed a fresh start in Suffolk.

Ironically, Douglas and his new side visit Brentford in their first game of the new Championship season tomorrow.

Team news

Town will be without centre-back Christophe Berra who is still suspended after getting sent off in the play-off semi-final against rivals Norwich City in May.

Left-back Jonathan Parr (thigh) is a doubt so new man Jonas Knudsen could make his debut alongside fellow new arrivals Brett Pitman, Ryan Fraser, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Giles Coke and Larsen Touré.
