Tiger Feat: Mildenhall speedway marks 40 years at West Row

Former and current riders gathered at West Row in Suffolk to celebratethe 40th anniversary of the Mildenhall Fen Tigers speedway club.

The Fen Tigers raced for the first time in May 1975 against Scunthorpein the National League.

Two members of their squad back then now have key roles with thecurrent set up at West Row.

Kevin Jolley is now the club's speedway promoter while Robert Henry isTeam Manager.

Henry worked as a mechanic for rider Bob Coles who captained the team,and later led the Fen Tigers to their first league title.

Former Mildenhall riders Michael Coles and Robert Parrish on their lapof appreciation around West Row stadium as part of the club's 40thanniversary celebrations.

The meeting, featuring the Palmer Trophy and the Bernie Klatt MemorialTrophy, was originally scheduled for March but had to be rescheduledbecause of the bad weather.Click below to see Donovan Blake's report on a memorable day
