Winner of Day One of Women's Tour taken to hospital after crash
Britain's female cyclist Lizzie Armitstead has been rushed to hospital following a crash moments after she won the first stage of the Women's Tour in Aldeburgh in Suffolk
Armitstead, 26, lifted her arms to celebrate the victory but caught an onlooker as she attempted to place her hands on the bike again.
Paramedics treated the rider before driving her away to hospital in an ambulance.
While the seriousness of the Commonwealth champion's injuries remain unknown, British cycling have tweeted:
