Royal Norfolk Show announces Grand Ring programme
The Household Cavalry, the RAF Falcons Parachute display team and scurry driving have been announced as among the Grand Ring highlights of the 2015 Royal Norfolk Show.
The annual agricultural show is held on Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 July 2015
The Household Cavalry Musical Ride will be bringing over 30 mounts with soldiers from each of the Life Guards and The Blues and Royals. They will be dressed exactly as they are for full state ceremonial events.
The performance is designed to demonstrate the type of horsemanship used by the Regiment in the days when it still fought on horseback.
Widely recognised as the UK’s premier military Parachute Display Team, the RAF Falcons return to the Royal Norfolk Show with their unique, colourful and courageous aerial acrobatics.
As the world’s leading freefall team, the RAF Falcons will take to the skies above the Showground, exiting the aircraft up to 12,000 feet above the ground before guiding their parachutes to land in the Grand Ring.
There will also be scurry driving which has been dubbed the Formula 1 of equine events. It is a fast paced and exciting competition where ponies pulling a carriage navigate gates, obstacles and slaloms through twists and turns.
The other Grand Ring shows include:
The Band of the Queen’s Division
Ride and Drive
Parade of Hounds
Vegetable production and harvesting display
Showjumping
Heavy horses
