George Osborne and Ed Balls have given another indication of how important this region is likely to be in tomorrow's general election - by returning just hours before the polls open in an 11th-hour bid for votes.

The Chancellor was keen to reiterate his claims that the Conservatives are the party for business when he visited the DPD depot in Corby, Northamptonshire, followed by the Charles Wells Brewery in Bedford.

He will head to Colchester this afternoon.

Meanwhile, Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls dropped in on the Labour Party headquarters in Stevenage and Peterborough to encourage people to vote for their candidates.

According to both politicians, tomorrow's vote should be an easy decision for people to make.
