Tickets for Radio One's Big Weekend snapped up in 40 minutes

Tickets for Radio One's Big Weekend in Norwich in may sold out in just 40 minutes this morning.

50,000 tickets were released at 8:05am this morning during The Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw. The tickets were given away in pairs, with 25,000 available for each day of the two-day event which takes place at Earlham Park on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th May.

Tickets were geographically weighted and an element of preference being given to local residents: 55% of tickets were reserved for those living within the area covered by Norwich City Council.20% were reserved for those residents with a Norwich (NR) postcode. 20% were reserved for residents in the surrounding East Anglian region with Ipswich (IP), Colchester (CO), Cambridge (CB) and Peterborough (PE) postcodes.The remaining 5% for other audiences across the UK.
