Ipswich Town's Jonny Williams has thanked the club's fans for their "special" support after returning to Portman Road for a third time.

Town beat the deadline to land the Welshman and Crystal Palace teammate Zeki Fryers on loan yesterday.

The Welshman saw another loan spell cut short earlier this season because of injury, but says that he was overwhelmed by the backing of Ipswich fans.

Now, 'Joniesta' is hoping to repay the faith shown in him by helping to fire the Blues back into the Premier League.

Ipswich also managed to extend the loan spells of Richard Chaplow and Luke Varney in what was a busy day in Suffolk.

In terms of outgoings, striker Paul Taylor joined Blackburn Rovers on loan until the end of the season.
