RAF Lakenheath to get new fighters in huge air re-shuffle

The Pentagon plans to boost its air power at nearby RAF Lakenheath by stationing two squadrons of F-35s there by 2020. It says it'll ensures the continuous presence of U.S. air power in the country.

The F-35 fighter is in final development and is one of the most advanced aircraft of its kind. It's described as a single-seat, single-engine, all weather stealth fighter.
