Man jailed for 12 years for abusing children

A 32-year-old man is starting a 12 year prison sentence after being found guilty of the sexual abuse of two children.

Simon Pettitt, of North View Drive, Whissonsett, near Fakenham was sentenced at Norwich Crown Court after being convicted following an eight day trial in August of this year.

Pettitt had been charged with five counts of sexual abuse including one count of rape and one count of sexual assault.

The abuse took place over a period of five years dating back as far as 2006 and involved girls under the age of 16.
