Union calls for contract to be ended at UK's only privately-run NHS hospital
Unison says new developments at Hinchingbrooke hospital in Cambridgeshire indicate that Circle is failing to meet financial and performance targets . It says the Finance Director of the troubled Trust has "stepped down" to take a job in a Cambridge college leaving "financial disarray." Unison claims the Trust is also facing a growing number of penalty payments for missing key performance targets, on top of the rising costs of using costly agency workers. Circle has always claimed it has come a long way since it took over the hospital in February 2012. It says patient safety and care is its top priority.
