The East basks in October sunshine as the region's tourism industry benefits from late surge

It's been an unseasonably warm end to October, with temperatures in some parts of the region hitting 19°C today.

With winter on the horizon, thousands have been heading for traditional tourist spots across the East to catch some last minute rays.

The late surge is great news for the region's tourism industry, with experts now saying that we could be on course for the best season in nearly a decade.
