Local residents relieved by "lucky escape" as F-15 jet crashes to the ground near school
Safety concerns have been raised by people living close to the site where an American fighter jet from RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk crashed.
An investgation has begun after the F-15 came down at Weston Hills near Spalding in South Lincolnshire yesterday afternoon.
The pilot ejected safely before the plane crashed in a field, not far from a local primary school.
People living nearby say it was lucky no-one on the ground was hurt.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Ambassador to the UK, Matthew Barzun, has confirmed that the pilot is now out of hospital and is recovering well.
