Pub destroyed by fire
A pub in Essex has been badly damaged by fire. An aerial ladder was called into help firefighters tackle the blaze at the King's Head in Bradwell-on-Sea.
Four fire appliances were initially sent to the scene. They found the whole roof of the pub on fire and the blaze quickly engulfed the whole building. Fire crews fought to protect surrounding properties.
It took three hours to bring the blaze under control.The cause of the fire is thought to be suspicious. Fire crews remained at the scene overnight and the investigation into the cause continued today (Saturday).
